(Oct 11, 2015) Phil Brough said:

My memory may be inaccurate but I am sure we left early in the morning from Exchange Station, it was raining and the brewery lorries were uploading crates of beer onto the train. I was amazed at the organisation of it all. With my Mam's warning about not talking to "those Glasgow tarts" ringing in my ears, we got to the stadium and stood in the open in a vast crowd of 80,000. I don't remember much about the match. I know Celtic won 1-0 but the bottles were being passed around. I had my first taste of whisky and have no idea how I got home.

Celtic issued their 'big match' programme, glossy, 8 pages for one shilling but light on content. My copy is very tatty with rain stains on the corners. It will be hard to find one in good condition - rain, whisky and thousands of big blokes roaring and breaking wind does not lend itself to the art of programme preservation. I should have taken a protective envelope like I do now; somehow it wouldn't have suited the environment.
