The following Sunday Liverpool won 3:2 against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane. All the goals came in the second half. Mauricio Tarrico gave Spurs the lead just after half time. Michael Owen equalised and strikes from Emile Heskey and Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool a two goal advantage. Terry Sheringham pulled one back for the home side late in the match. The result left Liverpool in 6th position in the Premier League on 49 points after 30 matches.
